Rams get 2nd consecutive district win with 5-3 victory over Plano

Berkner Varsity moved to 6-4 in District 9-5A play with a 5-3 win over Plano April 8th at Berkner. With the win, the Rams are in a tie with Allen for 3rd place in the district.

The Rams offense battled back from a 2-0 deficit with a home run from Nathan Lyons and hits from Stephen Spurlin, David Kobilka, Drew Roland, Marino Stathakis, and Chris Hendrix. Sam McNeese laid down an excellent bunt to spark the game winning rally. On the basepaths, Arman Naemi and Gilberto Castro both scored as pinch runners.

On defense, Raymond Valdez made a nice diving stop of a hard shot up the middle and gunned down the Plano runner to get a key out.

Chris Hendrix got the complete game pitching win for the Rams, scattering 4 hits and allowing 2 earned runs.
